When you think about how different cultures around the world are, does it mean that teenagers are different too? We still have the same hormones running through us, but are our characteristics different?
The answer is yes, but to a certain extent.
Teenagers all have there own personality, even if they follow certain cliques and fashions etc. We all face the same problems and troubles, even if we deal with them differently.
There might be a 14 year old teenage girl who lives in a flash apartment in New York City, a 16 year old teenage boy who lives in an average townhouse in London, a 15 year old boy who lives in a grass hut in a 3rd world country, and then me, a 17 year old teenage girl who lives in a small rural town in New Zealand. Even though we live in different parts of the world and different atmospheres, we are all similar in some way.
Relationships come up in every teens life. Weather it be with parents, friends, or with the opposite sex, we all have different relationships at some point in our teenage years.
Fashion decisions are an important part to a lot of teenagers around the world. Weather you're from Australia or Germany, the latest trends are a must for a lot of teens. The problem is access to these trends and money to afford it!
Love life. Or in a teenagers case, lust life for a lot of it. Crushes are a HUGE part of the average teens life. Crushes start young, and develop into more serious crushes. Relationships may develop from these crushes, or the crusher might be slightly crestfallen if the crush doesn't feel the same.
All in all, teenagers from different parts of the world aren't really that different. Yeah, we may have different cultures and different ways of looking at things. But there are so many situations we are put in that we have to face as a teen population.
